The artists in the studio
Our artists form the heart of our community and define what Streetwires is. We are a market driven job creation project. What we do is resolutely based on what benefit it will have for all within our organisation. At the moment, approximately 90 individuals make up the organisation that we call Streetwires, and we are proud of the difference we have been able to make in so many lives.
Artists are organized into teams as you can see below. Each team is managed by a group leader.
Before any shaping and beading work is done downstairs in our main studio, the sample team is the first port of call.
When orders are completed, they are checked and packed here.

| Eddie is well respected, both as an established artist and more recently as the Studio Manager. He's headed up training programmes as far afield as the Eastern Cape, and now manages the primary Streetwires studio in Cape Town. If it's been created by us, Eddie is the one who's made it happen. |
| Thobela Mnquma, Studio Administration |  | |
| Thobela has worked within Streetwires since 2003. She began as a beader, after which she became our tea lady and was quickly promoted to costing assistant. Now she is the lady who makes everything run smoothly in the studio, creating, issuing and outputing the job cards for each order. |
